Workers' Compensation
Superior claims handling is the centerpiece of Hewitt Coleman's
workers' compensation administrative services. We have developed a philosophy of
claim and account management that we find best suits our clients. It includes
being proactive not only in the management of individual claims, but also in the
management of our client's account. We believe in developing and maintaining a
close working relationship with our clients aimed at providing all benefits to
which injured workers are entitled in the most cost effective manner. We select
and train our staff to handle all claims in keeping with this philosophy.
We encourage client involvement in the decision making process on all claims.
However, we allow our clients to determine the degree of participation.
We review each new claim upon receipt and establish an action plan to bring it
to a prompt, cost-effective conclusion.
Medical management and cost containment are
thoroughly integrated into our workers' compensation claim handling procedures. Our adjusters
have available to them in-house registered nurses to
perform early intervention with treating physicians to ensure that aggressive,
appropriate care is rendered and any deviation from normal standards of care are
justified.
Workers' compensation medical bills are processed through our Total Care
Management division using First Health’s state-of-the-art system,
which includes PPO discounts, fee schedule, enhanced systems savings,
duplication detection, bundling, unbundling, and rebundling. We are able to provide large cost
savings through this system.
