Hewitt Coleman utilizes the IBM AS/400 configuration with software programs specifically designed to store and analyze data for self-insureds. This ability allows management to have the facts, trends, and factors on which to judge the success of the program or institute remedial actions where necessary.
On-line Access
Using HCConnect, workers'
compensation/liability clients may access their claim data via our web site.
Once a user name and password are assigned, clients can view all claims
information, including payments, reserves, reserve worksheets, adjuster notes,
managed care notes, etc. This system includes the capability to email the
adjuster from within the claim file. Users may also “query” claims data and
download the information into Excel®.
| For group health clients, Hewitt
Coleman also allows employers and employees secure on-line access to
their employee benefits information 24 hours a day, 7 days a
week. Unlike some systems that take a snapshot of data and
present it to the user, our system provides real time access.
This access includes on-line enrollment, benefit and eligibility
verification, claim history that includes charge amount,
processed date, patient responsibility, Explanation of Benefits,
etc.
We back our on-line services with attentive client support,

Security
Our system has dual disk drives which "mirror" one
another to prevent an interruption in computer service in the
event of a single disk crash. Daily backups are made of all
files; the tapes are rotated every third day. A complete
system backup is performed on a monthly basis and rotated
every third month. Yearly backup tapes are permanent.
We contract our disaster recovery program with SunGard.
